Marauder sailplane from MM Glider Tech. As the plane comes together, and as I remember to take pictures I'll post them here. This is my first built-up balsa plane, and also my first 3 Meter ship. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can pull this off... This is my own interpretation of the plans, instructions and kit parts and is posted on the Internet without permission of the manufacturer.

Before starting out

When ordering the plane from MM Glider Tech I was given additional instructions that weren't included on the plans.

  1. Wingtip - need to cut spar, create a spar joint like the leading edge. Will do top and bottom on both sides.
  2. Can add CF to the spar. Mix carbon tow (dry fiber) and aliphatic resin (wood glue) 40% water, 60% glue. Add carbon tow on one side of the spar. Lay out, make sure it is not twisted. With glove on a finger wiggle it until the CF flows down the spar and wets out the CF and the spar.
  3. Mistake on the plans. For the shear webs the plans show the shear webs stopping 3 bays out from the wingtip. They should be all the way out to the wingtips.
  4. Use Full size servos, and full size battery (he uses a 1400 mah battery) otherwise the plane will need lead. All up weight is 65 ounces.
Everything is in the kit. You will only need to purchase full size radio gear, solder on clevises, silver solder, and laminating resin for the fiberglas fuselage.
If you look online, search posts on RCSE etc. for other instructions you probably won't find any. This guide is intended to be my interpretation of the plans.
